Stay on top of every transaction, balance shift, and login event with First Community Credit Union's free account alert system. Configure alerts per account, per threshold, and per delivery channel — SMS, email, or push notification.
Balance warnings fire before you overdraw. Transaction alerts catch fraud before it spreads. Certificate maturity reminders ensure you never miss a rollover window. All free. All customizable. Set up in under two minutes.
First Community Credit Union's account alert system lets members configure real-time notifications for any combination of balance events, transaction activity, security events, and account milestones. Alerts are delivered via SMS text message, email, or push notification from the mobile app — each alert type can use one or multiple delivery channels simultaneously. There are no fees for the alert service. Alert types include: balance above/below threshold, transaction posted (any or above amount), large single purchase, low balance warning, direct deposit received, debit card use, online banking login activity, failed login attempt, wire received, loan payment due reminder, loan payment processed, and share certificate maturity reminder. Setup is through online banking Settings > Alerts & Notifications or the mobile app Settings menu. For consumer guidance on account monitoring, see consumerfinance.gov.
Each alert type is independent. Enable exactly the notifications you want — nothing more, nothing less.
Set a dollar threshold. Receive an alert whenever your account balance rises above or falls below that amount. Useful for monitoring checking account cushion before payroll clears, or for tracking savings milestones on a share savings account.
Get notified the moment any transaction posts to your account — debits, credits, ATM withdrawals, point-of-sale purchases, and ACH transactions. Optionally filter to only transactions above a dollar amount you set. Catches unauthorized activity faster than waiting for a statement.
Receive an alert every time your online banking account is accessed, including the device type and approximate location. Failed login attempt alerts fire after each unsuccessful password entry. These alerts are your first line of defense against unauthorized account access.
Never miss a share certificate renewal window. Set reminders at 30 days, 14 days, and 7 days before your certificate matures. This gives you time to decide whether to roll the certificate into a new term, change the amount, or move funds elsewhere — without defaulting to an automatic rollover you didn't intend.
Alert setup takes under two minutes. Here is exactly how to do it from online banking or the mobile app.
Log in to First Community Credit Union online banking. From the main navigation, select Settings, then Alerts & Notifications. You will see a list of all accounts linked to your member profile. Select the account you want to configure.
For each alert type — balance, transaction, login, certificate maturity, loan payment due — toggle it on and set your preferences. For balance alerts, enter the dollar threshold. For transaction alerts, choose whether you want every transaction or only those above a specific amount. Then select your delivery channel: SMS (enter your mobile number), email (uses the address on file), or push notification (requires the mobile app to be installed). You can select multiple delivery channels for any single alert. Save your settings — changes apply immediately.

First Community Credit Union members with active personal loans, auto loans, mortgages, or lines of credit can enable loan payment due date reminders. Set alerts to fire 7 days, 3 days, or 1 day before each scheduled payment due date. A follow-up alert confirms when the payment has posted.
Combined with automatic bill pay scheduled from your checking account, these alerts serve as a double confirmation — you know the payment is coming, and you know it arrived. Members who use payment due alerts consistently report fewer missed payments and late fee charges. The alert is free; the peace of mind is substantial.
